A large portion of diseases such as diabetes, ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure, ischemic stroke, osteoarthritis, and cancer are caused by being overweight and obese.<\/p><p>In Ayurveda,\u00a0<strong>Atisthoulya<\/strong>\u00a0(obesity) is described as the excessive accumulation of\u00a0<strong>Meda<\/strong>\u00a0(fat\/adipose tissue) and\u00a0<strong>Mamsa<\/strong>\u00a0(muscle\/muscle tissue), which leads to looseness in the hips, abdomen, and breasts. In Ayurveda, it is considered one of the\u00a0<strong>Santarpanottha Vikaras<\/strong>\u00a0(diseases caused by excessive calorie intake).\u00a0<strong>Medodushti<\/strong>\u00a0(disorders of fat
